ABOUT USSkeins is the result of the need to find hand dyed quality yarns and is run by Carole Greaves, who has a background of knitting for large yarn companies Sirdar and King Cole, and from a love of working with yarn and dyes, often using the view from her workshop in Padfield, High Peak, Derbyshire to inspire colour combinations.
The best wools and fibres are sourced, including silk, Merino, Alpaca, Mohair and Bluefaced Leicester, a breed of sheep which produces beautiful fleece.
YARNS
Skeins range of yarns start with fine LACE WEIGHTS and progress to chunky WRAP and FLAME with numerous weights and fibre contents in between. All yarns are individually hand dyed therefore there are sometimes slight variations in each batch - this is normal and part of the beauty of hand dyed yarns. Batches are kept to quite small amounts, however should a larger amount be required i.e. for a garment, then this can be done as can dying to a specific colourway.
PAYMENT
Payment can be made either by Paypal, cheque or by credit/debit card if ordering by phone. (Overseas customers by Paypal only). No information is kept with regard to card payments taken by phone.
DELIVERY
As only yarn that is in stock is put on the website orders will be sent out within 2/3 working days by 1st class post. Should your order not arrive within 10 working days please contact Skeins by e-mail or phone. Our aim is to keep postage costs to a minimum and will reuse packaging when available.
RETURNS
Although we are sure that you will be happy with your purchase should you wish to return all or part of your order this must be done within 10 days of receipt, unused and in its original condition. We will be happy to refund the cost of goods but will not reimburse for the cost of returning any goods.
PRIVACY POLICY
Skeins will not forward your details to other companies and will only forward information regarding its own products and events. Credit/Debit card information is not stored and should repeat orders be made this information will have to be given again.
